4 Horror War DLC1: The J-Horra Family

Last year for the site’s anniversary, I dropped dozens of monsters for 4 Horror War, a purely hypothetical mons game I made up in homage of a bunch of horror characters I like. Well, one of the things I’m doing this year is the first 4 Horror War DLC, House of 4 Horror War. There will be sixteen new arky families for your perusal this month. Today’s family belongs to Cosmic Horror, THE J-HORRA FAMILY!

So alien in physiology that its core consciousness dwells within its sweet-looking hat, Dreiram is a versatile fighter with a lot of tricks up its sleeve and the malign determination to use every single one of them to stay alive, no matter how cheap and underhanded they might be.

After digesting a strange alien parasite, Dreiram can evolve into Symbyot. Though tied to a weak and pitiful human, this Arky can manifest all sorts of weapons to defend itself and its host, slashing foes to ribbons with its bladed tentacles.

After purchasing a novelty cup designed for parents, Symbyot can evolve into Bonidad. Paternal and charismatic, this mutated monster knows what’s best for its fellow arkies, and will stop at nothing to help them reach their full potential. For their own good, of course.

After surviving a battle with only 10% (or less) of its HP left, Dreiram can evolve into Eyepipe. Rather than heal from its injuries, it has adapted to survive in its mangled state, even weaponizing many of its injuries in order to become more lethal even as a twisted fraction of what it once was.

If encouraged to build itself into something even stronger, Eyepipe can evolve into Frangyaru. Now a massive art piece comprised of machinery and mutated flesh, this nigh-unstoppable monster rearranges its shattered body into deadlier shapes every time it is harmed.

If told it can still be beautiful despite its mangled state, Eyepipe can evolve into Shocroc. A glamorous arky with a giant set of fang-lined jaws where its legs should be, Shocroc is a seductive ambush predator who pounces on its smitten prey with frightening voraciousness.

If reminded of the sweet innocence of harmless things like butterflies and rainbows, Dreiram can evolve into Ghibbly. A twisted and horrifying glutton whose destructive spree of carnivorous self-indulgence if often overlooked by those who view their childhood with rose-tinted glasses, this fast-moving monster can’t wait to shove foolishly idealistic people into its gaping maw.

If put on a team with the Aniabomination arky Vermiel, Ghibbly can evolve into Goddump. Intended to be a giant warrior of godlike strength, this giant mass of rotting and cancerous tissue still holds phenomenal power, even as it slowly melts into a lifeless meat-slurry the more it fires its deadly oral energy blasts.
