Last year for the site’s anniversary, I dropped dozens of monsters for 4 Horror War, a purely hypothetical mons game I made up in homage of a bunch of horror characters I like. Well, one of the things I’m doing this year is the first 4 Horror War DLC, House of 4 Horror War. There will be sixteen new arky families for your perusal this month. Today’s family belongs to Slasher Horror, THE PHOBIACORPSUS FAMILY!
Embodying the terror humans feel at the prospect of being rended limb from limb by a chainsaw, the amazing Chainjaw is a violent fiend of mayhem, slashing enemies to pieces with every swing of its powerful limbs.
After being given some fireworks to play with, Chainjaw can evolve into Dabomb. Now embodying the fear of explosives, this monster bristles with missiles, bombs, and any other kind of weaponized incendiary reaction you can think of. Even death can’t mitigate the danger it presents, as Dabomb’s strongest attack is unleashed on its enemies at the moment of its demise.
After drinking some sweet, sweet blood, Dabomb can evolve into Haemovil. Evoking both vampires and demons, this personified fear of bloodshed is armed not only with rending talons, but an enormous needle to drain enemies dry, which allows it to then regain health by consuming the blood it sucks out.
After reading statistics on mass shootings, Chainjaw can evolve into Enarray. Sporting more ranged weaponry than perhaps any other monster in the Land of Dread, Enarray can easily destroy any foe that attempts to get near it, as well as those trying to run away, and even those who are just standing there minding their own business.
If Enarray is forced to fight an enemy in close combat, it can evolve into Swordamon. Trading ranged weapons for close-range blades, Swordamon excels at cutting enemies down to size, even having enough speed to run down those that try to escape.
If Enarray somehow misses every single shot in a single battle, it can evolve into Modoll. No longer enamored with physical ranged attacks, this frightful beast now aims to destroy its enemy with psychological warfare, bombarding foes with magic hallucinations to sap their vitality.
If made aware of more existential threats than physical harm, Chainjaw can evolve into Vasexpan. Representing eternity itself, this monster can force enemies to relive past turns of battle, return allies to a point in time when the weren’t as hurt, and generally mess with time to aid its team and harm its opponents.
If put on a team with the Shadow Self arky Meumbra, Vasexpan can evolve into Ultimaumbra. Now representing one of the greatest fears of all, this living personification of the dark itself boasts some truly deadly magic attacks, as well as supreme defenses and a great deal of HP, though it is slow moving and not particularly skilled at working with others.
I feel uneasy, and honestly that’s a good sign this batch was well thought out. My biggest fear growing up was always being on railroad tracks when a train was coming, but I don’t know how THAT could be personified, so these will have to do
I think you skipped over a fairly important detail here….. Is swordamon wearing a several foot long blade hat??
