4 Horror War DLC1: The Real Monsta Family

Last year for the site’s anniversary, I dropped dozens of monsters for 4 Horror War, a purely hypothetical mons game I made up in homage of a bunch of horror characters I like. Well, one of the things I’m doing this year is the first 4 Horror War DLC, House of 4 Horror War. There will be sixteen new arky families for your perusal this month. Today’s family belongs to Slasher Horror, THE REAL MONSTA FAMILY!

Considering itself a hero in its own time, Huntwyt‘s monstrous actions are made all the more ghoulish by how justified and proud it is of them. This arky constantly boasts of its superiority to others, delighting in every kill it scores in battle and boasting about how easy its enemies were to defeat.

If encouraged to pine for the simpler and “better” days of an imagined past, Huntwyt can evolve into Mayqueen. Adorned with a head-dress of flowers who constantly gaze on it in admiration and tell it how much better things were “back then,” this arky deludes itself into thinking any horrific act its does is justified by the cruelty of modern times, and notably has great synergy when working with arkies of both Slasher and Gothic Horror.

After dying in battle four times, Mayqueen can transform into Shackrifice. A titan of wicker with an enormous health pool, Shackrifice’s attacks are not only powerful on their own, but also set enemies ablaze, slowly whittling their health away for the rest of the battle. Unfortunately, Shackrifice itself is also on fire, and as such its HP slowly burns up over time if not healed by its Fear Crafter or allied arkies.

If encouraged to share its superiority with the world, Huntwyt can evolve into Gascist. Dedicated to war, conquest, and the spread of tyranny, this malevolent arky prefers to draw out its enemies’ demise as as long as possible, using a variety of poisons to paralyze enemies and slowly drain their health away.

If asked to rebrand itself for better publicity, Gascist can evolve into Polibrute. No longer outwardly preaching the glories of an authoritarian rule, Polibrute instead justifies its cruelty by explaining how it’s for the safety of the world and the protection of peace, all while beating enemies senseless with needless violence and no mercy whatsoever.

If encouraged to act a bit more covertly, Polibrute can evolve into Guvspook. No longer fond of public displays of gratuitous violence, Guvspook sneaks around the battlefield to deliver stealthy and extremely powerful attacks on enemies, trading some of the defensive bulk of its predecessor for speed and precision.

If convinced that wealth and wealth alone makes one superior to others, Huntwyt can evolve into Wunpercent. Despite its enormous size, this monster bears little attack power on its own, relying on its allies (or “minions” as it prefers to think of them) to do its dirty work for it, which it repays by buffing them in various ways with its obscene wealth.

If put on a team with the Anonymous Killer arky Formyer, Wunpercent can evolve into Hipsquare. Though still obsessed with wealth and status, this arky takes a personal role in defending its superiority by literally cutting rivals down to size. If an enemy arky is healed or has its stats buffed while Hipsquare is on the field, this arky’s attack stats go up out of sheer envy.
