Last year for the site’s anniversary, I dropped dozens of monsters for 4 Horror War, a purely hypothetical mons game I made up in homage of a bunch of horror characters I like. Well, one of the things I’m doing this year is the first 4 Horror War DLC, House of 4 Horror War. There will be sixteen new arky families for your perusal this month. Today’s family belongs to Slasher Horror, THE HELLISH HEROES FAMILY!
Murderman asks the question no one else in history has been bold enough to ask: how cool would it be if superheroes were violent serial killers instead of goody two-shoes boy scouts? Responding to every situation with lethal force, this villainous vigilante can’t wait to fill every comic panel with splashes of bright cherry-red blood.
After traveling to outer space, Murderman can mutate into Poysun. Now bonded to a goopy alien parasite, this muscular hero tries to do good, but can’t help giving into its alien hunger for flesh. Luckily, the shapeshifting parasite attached to it can create a variety of weapons, and allows Poysun to endure a lot of punishment in battle.
After taking a trip to the depths of the underworld, Poysun can evolve into Brude. Extremely resistant to magic attacks and built for brawling, this monstrous vigilante is a solid addition to any arky team.
After making a pact with dark forces in order to kill people better, Murderman can transform into Etriman. Ironically, this has actually given it a less skewed moral compass, as encountering the forces of pure evil have sobered it up a bit.
If Etriman realizes its death-defying deal with dark forces allows it to do some truly foolhardy stunts, it can become Kenevil. Riding a flaming wheel and not giving a single crap about consequences, this extremely lucky arky will go along with any battle plan, the riskier the better.
If Etriman is allowed to binge watch classic tokusatsu transforming hero shows, it can evolve into Gyblade. Now sporting a more sci-fi edge to its body horror hero motiff, Gyblade trades some of its physical prowess for magic attacks and a slew of ranged weapons.
If put on a team with the Charismatic Sadist arky Yukyuk, Murderman can evolve into Funface. Having torn off its own face just for the sake of freaking people out, this arky does everything by extremes, though its low health pool and defenses mean it won’t have much staying power on the field of battle.
If Funface is asked to tone down the shock horror routine a bit, it can evolve into Hellequin. A master of comedy and extreme violence, this arky trades some of the ludicrous attack power of its predecessor for a bit more health and defense, allowing it to still pack some shocking punches while enduring more damage than Funface ever could.
