Sibelisaurus was created by highly radioactive nerd for the ATOM Create a Kaiju Contest.  Highly radioactive nerd retains all the rights to Sibelisaurus, and the illustration and profile here are adapted from his work.  While Sibelisaurus is not an official part of ATOM’s canon, she and the other contest entries posted on this site are considered semi-canonical – the Star Wars Legends to ATOM’s Star Wars.  Highly radioactive nerd is a prominent blogger in the kaiju fandom, and I highly recommend you follow his blog if you love the world of giant monsters!

Biology: A member of the Duck-billed Goliath clade of Retrosaurs, Sileblisaurus is a massive herbivore adapted for an amphibious lifestyle, though she can manage a fully terrestrial life just as easily.  Her species has many adaptations that allow her to create a wide variety of vocalizations.  While most of these are for communication with others of her kind, she can also produce some sounds that have offensive utility, such as a sonic roar that deafens predators.

Her powers include:

• Super strength
• An enhanced healing factor
• Immunity to radiation
• Sonic Attacks

Personality: A calm and placid creature, Sibelisaurus is often mistaken for a pushover because of her peaceful demeanor.  Indeed, her gentle interactions with most other monsters often paint the retrosaur as something of a kaiju hippie, spreading love and good vibes through her beautiful vocalizations and friendly personality.  When first discovered, her species was assumed by humanity to be relatively harmless.

Appearances are deceiving.

While Sibelisaurus doesn’t like to pick fights, she can damn well end them, as both kaiju and humanity have quickly discovered on the occasions when they have roused her ire.  The retrosaur avoids conflict when she can, but does not hold back when pushed into a corner.  She is a capable brawler as most kaiju are, but her real strength lies in her sonic weaponry.  Her amplified roars can deafen those around her, induce splitting headaches, and even cause vertigo and nausea as she knocked a foe off balance.  The range of these attacks is absurd as well – many flying kaiju who believe they are safe in the air find themselves tumbling to the ground in a writhing ball of agony as her roar throws them off balance.

Sibelisaurus is also fiercely protective of those she considers family.  The retrosaur currently has a hatchling, and has grown to consider some of the other kaiju on Typhon Island to be part of her herd.  Any who threaten the peaceful herbivore’s kin will quickly find themselves in an absolutely vicious battle for their lives – and once incensed by a slight against her family, Sibelisaurus is very reluctant to back down until she knows the threat has been ended.
