Place of Origin: The Jungle of Green Hell
Notable Stomping Grounds: The Jungle of Green Hell, Area 51, Typhon Island
Height: 100 feet
Length: 180 feet
Biology: Like Girtabane, the giant spider known as Bobo features many unique adaptations that set her apart from normal spiders. Most notably, her cephalothorax is actually split into a head, neck, and torso, giving her a more insectoid appearance than other spiders. This, combined with her second set of mandibles and unusually hand-like pedipalps, gives Bobo the ability to express herself with eerily human-like mannerisms.
Between her kaiju status and her natural arachnid gifts, Bobo has the following powers at her disposal:
- Super strength
- An enhanced healing factor
- Immunity to radiation
- Super webbing
- Neurotoxic Venom
Personality: Bobo is the gentlest kaiju known to mankind. Timid and pacifistic, the massive arachnid abhors violence and combat, shrinking from every threat and refusing to fight unless absolutely cornered. When she feels secure, she is one of the most outgoing giant monsters of all, extending a pedipalp in friendship to any creature that approaches her with peaceful intentions.
Since kaiju can actually draw all the energy they need from a variety of sources – sunlight, Yamaneon radiation, thermal energy of the subterranean earth, etc. – they do not actually need to eat, and Bobo may be one of the only kaiju to realize this as she displays none of the predatory behaviors one would expect from a massive spider. Quite the contrary, Bobo is often friendly and even protective of creatures smaller than her, and will even snatch up tiny kaiju when larger ones approach to whisk them off to safety. The territorial aggression and bloodlust that defines so many of her fellow giants is completely absent in the spider, as she seems far more interested in making friends than winning battles.
Bobo is a fun loving sort, which may be why her discoverer saddled her with such a ridiculous name. She often uses her webbing to make large play areas not dissimilar from jungle gyms, crawling up and down the elastic webbing or simply bouncing from platform to platform. It’s not the only creative way she uses her webbing, either. Lassos, tripwires, elaborate snares, and even nets are all weapons she can craft at a moments notice, and given enough time she can turn an area into an obstacle course for any monster that dares oppose her.
Though Bobo hates fighting, she is good at it when pushed, although she never aims to kill. The spider’s primary motivation is always escape unless a creature she has grown fond of is also imperiled; in the later situation, Bobo will fight with uncharacteristic bravery and ferocity until she and her ally are both safe and free.
She’s so nice! I cried a little bit.

I love how the two main spider and snake monsters are also some of the most unambiguously heroic monsters in this series!
